3D Printed Suitcase Wheel Treads

 


Some of the hard rubber was breaking off the wheels on Chris' suitcase, and it became rough and more difficult to roll.
Most likely thanks to an excursion in Spain earlier this year, where I had us take the local bus to the airport. A journey that also included a longer than anticipated walk across rough asphalt...

So I chipped off the remaining rubber and replaced the damaged treads with a 3D printed TPU parts, that I 3D modeled. TPU is a somewhat flexible material (that does come in normal colors, neon yellow is just what was available). The suitcase rolls smoothly now. We'll see how long the TPU treads last...
