Visual Analysis: "Coruscant Cadillac"
We all have those things that stick with us from the latest episode of Andor, how will Cassian get out of this one or which expendable characters could we lose next time…
I do think about those things, AND I also lay in bed thinking about the design of Mon Mothma's car.
It’s sort of a mash-up of an old Lincoln with a new, and it easily fits into the grunge sci-fi of a “long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…”. Additionally, it reckons the over-designed, cyberpunk Coruscant-in-its-prime of Episodes I-III with the gritty tension of a political rebel entrenched in the high life of Palpatine’s impending, empirical Coruscant.
Mon Mothma's car strikes these balances so well, effectively connecting the visual dots, that it’s stuck with me, and now I share my ponderings with you.
